In line to review separation and divorce checks
In recent weeks, family law lawyers have often continued to attend the courts, in person or “remotely”, despite the suspension of hearings and terms caused by the Covid-19 emergency. And now they are called upon to manage the first consequences of the impact of the lockdown on the lives of divided families: starting with requests to change the economic conditions established at the time of separation or divorce and which are now no longer sustainable.
The blocking of hearings, operating until May 11, has been without prejudice to some urgent causes, including those relating to “alimony or maintenance obligations deriving from family relationships”: a phrase provided for by emergency regulations and whose scope has been interpreted differently in the various judicial offices...
